14 Day Reset
It's the first week of January, which means it's nearly impossible to go ANYWHERE without getting smacked in the face with diets, weight loss plans, people bombarding gyms and buying online exercise programs.
There are so many contradictory voices out there screaming to be heard, that it all ends up being white noise. It's confusing. It's exhausting to try and decipher what to do and what NOT to do. I don't partake in any of it and even I'M feeling the need to pull back and detox from it all.
So let's say for a minute that you're someone who wants to feel better; where do you even go? How do you begin to sort through the garbage and find something that will be beneficial?
Well, first you should probably make sure you understand what causes and DOESN'T cause weight gain.
I shared a guide with my community this week that offers a different take on weight loss. In it, I break down 4 different myths and talk about the root cause of weight gain. But here's the abbreviated version: your body doesn't feel safe and gained weight as a way to protect you. Most of the time, it's linked to emotional trauma, high cortisol levels, or toxins. Did you know that your body will encapsulate toxins in fat, to prevent it from moving into your organs? Honestly, our bodies are so incredible!
You can see, then, how depriving your body of foods and punishing it with extreme exercises ISN'T going to be helpful. It's most likely going to cause your body to feel even LESS safe. You might get some temporary results, but they won't last.
You need to address the root causes of what your body is communicating, help it heal from trauma and then also flood it with nourishing things.
Which brings me to The 14 Day Reset.
This is NOT a diet.
It is NOT an extreme exercise plan.
It is a way to work alongside your body and flood it with the nourishment it needs. And as a result, your body will release weight, inflammation and inches.
This reset is a way to help you get back to the basics of what your body needs, without stressing you out.
